Consensual Dispute Resolution Project

This project examines the use of consensual dispute resolution (CDR) processes in cases involving family violence — a particularly sensitive and complex area of justice system design. Funded by the Department of Justice Canada through its Justice Partnership and Innovation Program, the project is carried out in partnership with the BC Ministry of Attorney General’s Family Policy, Legislation and Transformation Division.

The work of ACE has focused on the qualitative research components of the study, exploring the experiences of participants, the role of trauma-informed practice, and the systemic risks and benefits of CDR in family violence contexts.
